Photoforge2 is probably one of the best photo-editing software for the iPad that I have come across. It is packed with features that will make even the most demanding users happy. If you are a Photoshop user, many of the features will feel pretty familiar. Levels, curves, contrast, hue/saturation, white balance, channel mixer, brightness/contrast, color balance, vibrance, unsharp mask, high pass are all part of the deal. You can also add solid color layers, blend them in various modes even add layer masks. You also get all the tools for straightening, cropping and resizing your images, the ability to add textures as well as a bunch of pre-made effects for those who prefer things simpler. Exporting is also well structured giving you options for your iPad's photo gallery, through email, ftp upload, and various social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr and Dropbox. Photoforge2 is a really useful piece of software for photo editing, even though I dislike the fact that effect-changes don't happen in real time. On high resolution images, this can become really annoying and I consider this a major flaw to an otherwise great piece of software.
